How to Install a Metal Roof

Install the new panels after applying the closure strip. Be sure to overlap the edge by at least 2.5 cm (1 inch) on the existing shingle roofing. The seal will prevent hail or rain from blowing beneath the roofing.
The standing seam metal roofing can be insulated between existing shingles and the standing-seam roof. It will also reduce the energy used to heat and cool your home or office. This creates a gap of air that acts as a cushion to stop the metal from heating shingles below in the summer. This method will also reduce the likelihood of a large hailstone damaging a roof.
